The International Retail Design Conference (IRDC) required a refreshed visual identity that would better reflect its position as a global platform for innovation, creativity, and connection within the retail design industry. The challenge was to modernise the existing logo while maintaining recognition and preserving the strength of the established IRDC acronym.
Drawing inspiration from the evolution of the conference's previous identities, I redesigned the letterforms using a modular system with consistent stroke weights and rounded geometries. The refreshed logo introduces a greater sense of movement, approachability, and contemporary design thinking while retaining a professional and structured presence. A vibrant colour palette, flexible logo lockups, and a cohesive typography system were developed to support the brand across digital, print, event signage, merchandise, and promotional materials.
The result is a dynamic and future-focused identity that balances professionalism with creativity, reflecting IRDC's role as a leading international conference for retail design.
